The most important sources of inspiration in making my work are the people who appear in many guises. The environment also plays an important role in this. In addition, I need to give a dramatic expression to this subject. During the many sketching and drawing sessions for models from my immediate environment, I try to convert the language of the body into color and rhythm on canvas or paper.
With powerful strokes I show how figures feel and who they are. I leave enough room for the viewer for their own interpretation. I try to replace the emotions in my subjects with shape and color. My images usually originate from figures that appear in my paintings and from the need to deal with my work three-dimensionally.
