CAESAR

CAESAR Art Studio was founded by a Belgian artist, who now lives and works in The Netherlands. He graduated from the well-known fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and worked for 30 years as a designer for various (inter)national brands. However, despite his successful career in fashion, he felt a longing for more artistic freedom, something he often lacked in his work. His love for modern art, architecture, design, but also for the beauty of nature and life itself, inspired him to make a career switch and focus on visual arts. This marked a turning point in his life.

As an artist he is fascinated by the Abstract Expressionism of the 1940s and 1950s in America and the resulting movements. He likes to create large abstract work without recognizable images, where inner emotions and feelings through of spontaneous and intuitive gestures and movements are expressed. The artworks are characterized by their energy, unpredictability and personal connection with the artist. The use of monochromatic colors or a wide range of bright colors is usual, the works are often complex and layered with a combination of sophisticated and rough textures to create a sense of depth and movement. In addition to exploring artistic freedom and self-expression, there is one more very important feeling for the artist and this is beautifully expressed by the French actress and artist Charlotte Rampling

The idea is that when one is completely absorbed in the material and the artistic expression, no intellectual effort is required. At that moment there is no room for other thoughts and one is able to reconnect with oneself, which possibly leads to a feeling where time seems to stand still ... and this is what the artist hopes to convey to the viewer.
